SAM 8.5 is available and provides the following new functionality:
Adaptation of element length and angle, in any phase of the mechanism creation process. Display of length, angle and distances, as usual in CAD programs. The values are adjusted during animation.

SAM 8.4 is available and provides the following new functionality:-
load dependent friction, bearing force in angle-fixed elements joined to integral value, entry of numbers also with comma-separator, trial license received immediately from within the software itself.

SAM 8.3 is available and provides the following new functionality:-
Dynamic intersection points even during animation.
Distance between objects and shapes.
Collision detection

SAM offers a set of design wizards which will help you to synthesize mechanisms for specific tasks, such as: Angle function generation, 3-Position/angle synthesis of the coupler plane, Approximated straight line motion.

SAM 8.2 is available and provides the following new functionality:
- Unified import of data (no more linking to files + option to interpret data as SI or current units)
- Text box including call out pointer
- Graphic shapes with fill color
- Ordering of graphic shapes by user
- Display of multiple positions of the animated mechanism
- Logic dependencies of preference versus project option
- Element and node labels with real names instead of numbers
- Movable element and node labels
- New optimization option: rejection of experiment based on percentage completed motion steps

SAM 8.1 is available and provides the following new functionality. The analysis time in SAM is shortened by a factor of 4 to 5, which results in major time savings, especially with complex optimizations.
SAM 8.1 also makes the definition and synchronization of multiple drives easier.  Finally, a rack element has been added.
